VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - One Valdosta High School senior will not only receive a diploma but a car as well.
Valdosta High School held its raffle drawing for a brand-new car on Thursday and senior Jalen Harrell was the winner of a 2012 Fiat 500.
For the past couple of years, seniors have looked forward to this event as they work toward their high school diploma.
The Valdosta City School District said the opportunity to win a new car is a grand reward for completing their high school education.
“I'm very surprised right now, I wasn't expecting me out of a million people, I wasn't expecting it to be me. So, I'm thankful for the opportunity and at the same time I'm thankful to Valdosta High School for everything they've offered me,” said Harrell.
The Valdosta High School graduation was held on Friday at 7 p.m. at the school's stadium.
