VALDOSTA, Ga.-- Over 200 families participated in a community and family empowerment event. It was at the Goodwill Career Center on May 11 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The annual event provides resources for families in the Valdosta and Lowndes County area. It included free food, door prizes, workshops, free legal advice, foreclosure counseling and more.
Some of the organizations that participated included HomeSafe Georgia, Internal Revenue Services and Adkins & Douglas, LLP.
"Every year during the first full week of May Goodwill agencies across the United States and Canada celebrate the power of work through local events and promotions," said Carla Gervin, Career Center Manager. "At Goodwill we are committed to helping people earn a living and improve their lives, families and communities. Goodwill Industries Week provides us the platform to show our customers, donors, and shoppers for the continued support of our mission."
