VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL) - Several drug investigations in Valdosta landed five men behind bars.

Police say Romel Morrison, 22, was found last Wednesday with 15 grams of marijuana in his car and other items used for drug sales.

Police served two search warrants Friday and arrested Wayne Barrett, 54, Andrew Lee Williams, 55, Phillip Michael Thomas, 30, and Trumaine Alfred Jackson, 31.

During the search, police found various drugs and tools used for selling narcotics.

All five men are facing drug-related charges.

The Valdosta Police Department expressed thanks for citizens who provided their narcotics unit information about illegal drug sales in their neighborhoods.

"A clear statement was made by our citizens that Valdosta's neighborhoods are for our residents and youth, not drug dealers," said VPD Lt. Adam Bembry.
