VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL) -  Valdosta City Schools will host a series of public input meetings on redistricting the elementary school zones.  School administrators say redistricting becomes necessary when attendance zones have grown disproportionately to the occupancy capacity of each school in the system.  This usually occurs when a new school is built and it becomes necessary to balance out enrollment and coordinate school bus routes.

The system will host four public input meetings.  They will be:

  • Tuesday, February 11 at 7:00 pm in the Sallas Mahone Elementary School Gymnasium
  • Tuesday, February 18 at 7:00 pm in the J.L. Lomax Elementary School Gymnasium
  • Thursday, March 13 at 7:00 pm in the S.L. Mason Elementary School Gymnasium
  • Tuesday, March 18 at 7:00 pm in the W.G. Nunn Elementary School Gymnasium

Parents and community members are invited to attend these sessions to offer their input on the elementary attendance zones.  For more information contact Valdosta City Schools at (229) 333-8500.
