UPDATE: Law enforcement officers in Tallahassee are working a crime scene on North Monroe Street Wednesday.
It happened at 4:15p.m. at the 4th Quarter Bar and Grill.
Officials say Jared Simpson made comments in the bar that raised concern for people’s well being.
Simpson left a package in the bar, and Big Bend Regional Bomb Squad was called out to investigate, but they deemed the package safe and non-threatening.
Officials closed down all of Monroe Street for safety.
As they continued investigating, they found a suspicious red vehicle, belonging to Simpson in the lot and began a search.
Around 8:15p.m., the bomb squad announced an audible bang, where they brought out robots to investigate the vehicle. The findings led them to destroy something inside the vehicle.
At this time there is no word on what was in the vehicle, but officials say neither of the suspicious packages were bombs.
Simpson was arrested and taken to the Leon County jail where he will be processed.
