UPDATE, Sept. 11, 2014, VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL) - Valdosta Police say Amos Haynes has been charged with Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime. It is in connection with the shooting of Xavier Jones. VPD says Jones is in critical but stable condition.
Further charges are possible. Haynes is being held at the Lowndes County Jail pending judicial proceedings.

UPDATE, Sept. 10, 2014 VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL) - Valdosta Police have a suspect in custody that they say was involved in a shooting on Wednesday.
It's 35-year old Amos Haynes.
Police say about 12:45 Wednesday morning, 38-year old Xavier Jones was working outside on a home on Ray Lane near Highway 84 West, when Haynes shot him several times with a handgun.
Police say Jones remains in critical condition at a local hospital. They say he is conscious and alert.
Investigators continue to look for the weapon used in the crime.

VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL)-Valdosta Police, responding to an afternoon shooting, leaving one man shot multiple times.
Here is what Police are saying at this hour:
On September 10, 2014 at approximately 12:30 p.m., a shooting occurred outside of a residence located at 104 Ray Lane, Valdosta, Georgia. The victim, Xavier Jones, 38 year old male was performing work on the residence when an altercation occurred. Jones was shot multiple times with a handgun.
Witnesses called 911 and law enforcement officers quickly arrived on scene. Information was gathered at the scene from multiple sources and VPD K-9 units were deployed to search for the suspect.
The suspect was described as being an African American male with dreadlock style hair and wearing a white T-Shirt. After further investigation, the suspect was identified as Amos Haynes, 35 year old Valdosta resident. Officers and Detectives searched the area for Haynes, and he was located and apprehended a short time later in a wooded area not too far from the scene of the shooting.
A second person was placed into investigative detention regarding the incident but was later released with no formal charges filed.
Haynes is currently being held at the Lowndes County Jail and formal criminal charges are pending. The victim is in critical condition and is currently being treated at South Georgia Medical Center.
