UPDATED SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 27, 2014 AT 9:25 P.M.
According to our media partners at the Tallahassee Democrat, a FAMU student and a TCC student were shot on FAMU's campus Friday night. They have both been treated for non-life threatening injuries and released from the hospital. Police are still looking for the suspect, who they describe as a black male, five feet eight inches tall and of medium build.
We spoke with students about their safety on campus.
"It can be discouraging sometimes to hear about the number of crimes that take place on the university's campus, but we as students definitely have to make a stronger effort to be educated on how to remain safe on campus," said FAMU student Justin Lee.
"We need to make sure they're educated on how to act when they go out and how to make sure they check for signs of people having suspicious activity something like that so nothing like this happens again," said FAMU student Ryan Kornegay.
