UPDATE: Police ID man's body found near FAMU Way

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- Tallahassee Police are continuing to ask for the public's help to solve a murder that happened Tuesday near FAMU's campus.

Tallahassee Police have now identified the victim as being 27-year-old Jessee Rollins.

Investigators say Rollins' body was found around 12:45 a.m. August 20 on FAMU Way near Wahnish Way.

Officers are talking with witnesses and encouraging anyone with any information in the case to call Big Bend Crime Stoppers at (850) 574-8477.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Tallahassee police are continuing their ongoing murder investigation after a body was found at the intersection of Wahnish Way (or Railroad Avenue) and FAMU Way.

Police received a call about the body at about 12:45 a.m. on Tuesday, August 20.  When police, EMS, and fire officials responded, they found the dead man's body lying in the roadway.

Homicide and Forensic experts too over the scene, getting evidence and interviewing witnesses. The investigation is ongoing, but officials are treating this case as a homicide.

The official cause of death or the victim's identity is not being released by authorities.
