UPDATE: Pedestrian killed during Sunday evening crash on N. Monroe

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- Tallahassee police say that the pedestrian that was struck by a car on Sunday, January 6, is dead.

The man, now identified as 48-year-old Edward Dennis, was hit by a car in the area of Allen Road and Monroe Street. He died as a result of his injuries from that incident.

Police closed down North Monroe Street for a few hours after the crash.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)--Roads were closed on Sunday evening after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in Tallahassee.

The crash happened in the area of Allen Road and Monroe Street. Police responded to the area and discovered the injured pedestrian, who was taken to the hospital.

Police closed the southbound lanes of Monroe Street. They were open again just hours after the incident.

Police say they haven't arrested anyone in connection to the crash, and there's no word on if any charges will be filed.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)--Tallahassee Police Officers were called to the area of Allen Road and Monroe Street for a traffic crash Sunday night. Officers determined a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital where they are currently being treated for their injuries.

At this time, the southbound lanes of Monroe Street are affected by the crash and are currently closed.
