According to troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol, 20-year-old Virginia Marie Ruiz of Quincy was pronounced dead in Tallahassee Memorial Hospital this afternoon.

GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL)-- Two people are in critical condition after a car catches fire in Gadsden County.
It happened just after noon Sunday. Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol say 21-year-old Andres Calderon was driving with 20-year-old Virginia Marie Ruiz on Old Federal Highway near Cane Creek Road in Gadsden County. The car veered off the road and hit a tree. Troopers say the car caught fire, but Calderon was able to get out of the car with Ruiz before the car was completely destroyed.
They are both in critical condition at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.
