UPDATE: Moultrie Shooting Suspect Still on the Loose

UPDATE (10:30 a.m.)

MOULTRIE, Ga. (WTXL) -- Moultrie police are also investigating an overnight shooting that sent one man to the hospital. 

Officials say the Thomas Edwards was walking down the street, when a man asked him for a lighter. Edwards gave him a lighter, the man used it and Edwards walked away.

According to police, that's when the suspect went after the Edward's pockets, taking $11 and a house key.

When Edwards tried to run away, he was shot once in the hip area. He was taken to Colquitt Regional.

Police believe the someone related to Edwards knows who did it but won't talk.

MOULTRIE, Ga. (WTXL) -- Moultrie Police are searching for an armed suspect involved in an overnight shooting.

Details are few at this time, but officials have released a description of the shooter. He's described as a black male about six feet tall with a slender build and full beard.

Authorities say he was carrying a black pistol at the time of the shooting. No word yet on if anyone was injured in the shooting.
