TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Nine people were displaced as a result of a house fire in the 2800 block of Southwood Drive, according to Lt. Mike Bellamy with the  Tallahassee Fire Department.

Lt. Bellamy said that they received a call just after 11 a.m. One of the residents, home with three kids, noticed smoke. She grabbed the children and ran to her neighbor's house.

Fire crews responded, entered the home, and put out the fire. Utility crews also helped at the scene, securing power to the home.
