Motorcyclist Thomas Painter succumbed to his injuries sustained in his motorcycle crash.
Painter's brother says Thomas was taking a drive with his wife to have a relaxing evening when his motorcycle was struck.
SUWANNEE CO., Fla. (WTXL) - Two people have been taken to a hospital in Gainesville after a motorcycle accident. It happened about 2:45 p.m. on Friday, July 3, 2015.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), a 2000 Harley Davidson motorcycle, driven by Thomas Painter, 63, of Fort White, Florida was going northbound on State Road 247 approaching 35th Drive. When Painter attempted to turn left, troopers say he was hit from behind by a Dodge truck driven by Julie Stanley. Both Painter and his passenger, 51-year old Jill Painter, were thrown off and landed on the ground.
FHP says both Thomas and Jill Painter were treated on scene by Suwannee EMS then flown to UF Health in Gainesville by Airlife 7 for treatment.
They say Thomas is suffering from critical injuries, Jill from serious. Neither were wearing a helmet.
Charges are pending.
