UPDATE: Crash kills two in Thomasville

THOMAS COUNTY, Ga. (WTXL)-- Georgia State Patrol troopers say 19 year old Sharron Thompson is charged with a misdemeanor of failure to report an accident with serious injury or death.

Troopers say 24-year old Michael Justin Bevard and his passenger 28-year old Damian Brown were killed. Troopers say Bevard and Thompson were driving at high speeds in their cars.

Troopers say Bevard lost control around a curve and crashed into a tree near Martin Luther King Drive. Troopers say Thompson sped off without informing police about the crash. It happened shortly after 1:00 a.m Monday morning. Thompson was booked in the Thomas County Jail.

THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WTXL)--Two people are dead after a crash in Thomasville.

Georgia State Patrol troopers say 24-year Michael Justin Bevard and his passenger 28-year old Damian Brown were killed. They say Bevard was driving at a high rate of speed on Pinetree Blvd., lost control around a curve and crashed into a tree near Martin Luther King Drive. It happened shortly after 1:00 a.m. on Monday. 

"Our hearts go out to the families of these two gentlemen, our deepest sympathy," said Steve Jones with the Thomas County Sheriff's Office. I just wish that people will understand that drag racing or whatever they where doing at high speeds is so, so dangerous and can end so quickly."

Troopers say Bevard and the driver of another vehicle, who they plan to question Tuesday, were driving fast and showing off their cars. The crash is under investigation.
