COLUMBIA CO. CRASH, Fla. (WTXL) - Charges have been filed in a three-vehicle crash that injured 14 people.
It happened a little after 3 pm yesterday on I-75 near mile marker 436 in Columbia county. Officials say Pah Kyar, the driver of a van carrying more than 17 passengers, slowed down quickly to change lanes. Two other vehicles swerved to avoid collision, but ultimately all hit. Kyar has been charges with improper lane change.
13 passengers in the van were transported to local hospitals, and 3 of them airlifted to UF Health in Gainesville. Two passengers are said to be in critical condition. A driver of one of the other vehicles suffered minor injuries.
Authorities say because of the number of those injured, the crash called for a multi-agency ems response.
