LEON COUNTY, FL (WTXL) - Talquin Electric has sent out a message warning residents in Leon County to boil their water before drinking or using it.
Talquin Electric issued a boil water notice for several areas around 6 p.m. Friday afternoon following the aftermath of Hurricane Hermine.
The electric company said that water service is out in nearly 200 households in the Miccosukee area of Bradfordville. Another 60 households in the Stonegate area of Leon County are without water service. The Annawood Water System in Leon County is out of service as well.
The company is recommending that residents boil their water before use and is also telling affected citizens to run water from outside or from the bath tub to assure that the water has been flushed before using appliances. If sediment is present in the water, they recommend letting it settle before drinking.
