FERGUSON, MO. (WTXL) - After a calmer Tuesday night in Ferguson, Missouri Police say, they believe they have reached a turning point and now the case that sparked the turmoil is about to move forward.
It's been 11 days since protests broke out after the killing of unarmed teen Michael Brown. Tuesday night's protest was, for the most part, peaceful after community leaders and Brown's parents pleaded for non-violence.
At least 50 people were arrested after news of another fatal police shooting of a black man quickly spread.
Freelance photographer Jon Lowinstein, is in Ferguson watching the events unfold and says the violent protests are taking away from the real issue, "You know that's what I try to do a lot, you know in this type of story is try to bring it back to the human because so often it becomes this. Already you can see Mike Brown is been lost in the whole thing, the whole conversation at this point.“
Attorney General Eric Holder was in Ferguson, MO Wednesday to speak with city leaders about the investigation into shooting death of Michael Brown.
Brown's funeral will be held Monday August 25th.
