TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - An unprovoked Tallahassee man was arrested after beating another man until he was unconscious at a local bar.
Dale McDaniel, 47, was arrested by the Tallahassee Police Department on Friday.
On May 11, officers were called to Just One More Bar on North Monroe Street in response to a disturbance.
When officers arrived on scene, they made contact with the victim who was bleeding from the nose and mouth, while crying.
Talking to officers, the victim stated he was standing outside when McDaniel ran up to him and punched him in the mouth.
The victim said he fell to the ground and McDaniel continued to punch him in the face and mouth.
The victim informed officers he did not hit McDaniel back, only putting his hands up in defense.
According to the police report, the victim said he did not know why McDaniel attacked him as he had never seen him before.
The victim lost consciousness during the incident and had multiple bruises and cuts to his mouth, nose, left eye socket, and forehead.
He also had cuts consistent to road rash from falling on asphalt and the dental bridge he had in his mouth was broken.
When officers began talking with McDaniel, he spontaneously admitted to hitting the victim for no apparent reason.
McDaniel was then placed into handcuffs and put into the back of a patrol car.
According to the police report, while on the way to the Leon County Detention Facility, McDaniel admitted to officers to hitting the victim multiple times because he "disrespected" him.
Officers say the video from the business clearly shows McDaniel hitting the victim unprovoked multiple times.
Based on the evidence, McDaniel is being charged with felony battery, second or subsequent offense.
McDaniel has a prior conviction from April of 2015 for battery in Leon County.
He has since bonded out.
