2 Unlicensed Florida 'Butt Doctors' Plead Guilty

A South Florida couple who ran a "butt doctor" practice out of their home has pleaded guilty to practicing health care without a license.

The pleas came Thursday in Miami-Dade Circuit Court from 55-year-old Samela Hernandez and 59-year-old Pedro Hernandez. The Hialeah couple will serve two years of house arrest, with permission to leave for work, plus payment of restitution.

Authorities say they mainly provided so-called "touch-up" injections to their mostly female customers who had gotten more extensive posterior enhancement work done overseas. The Miami Herald (http://hrld.us/1yKuRDb ) reports they were arrested after an exotic dancer suffered permanent disfigurement.

Investigators also say Samela Hernandez used a silicon-based solution that is legal in her home country of Colombia but banned in the U.S.

South Florida is a hub for illegal butt enhancements.
