ORLANDO, Fla. (WTXL) -- Universal Orlando Resort announced this week they are raising the cost of theme park admission.
A one-day ticket will now cost $96 for adults and $90 for children. The option to visit Universal Orlando and Islands of Adventures for one day will cost $136 for adults and $130 for children.
Universal Orlando released a statement saying: "We set our prices to reflect the value of the entertainment experience we provide. Our guests continue to tell us we offer great entertainment at great value. We offer a variety of value-driven, multi-day vacation packages for guests and their families with options as low as $49 per day. Throughout the year, we also provide special offers to Florida residents -- including discounts on annual passes."
The price hike comes just days after Walt Disney World announced they were raising the admission price for their theme parks. Like Disney, this is Universal Orlando's second admission price increase within a year.
Universal Orlando is preparing for major refurbishments at CityWalk entertainment complex and the opening of the new "Diagon Alley" at Islands of Adventures - linking to the "Wizarding World of Harry Potter" at Universal Orlando.
