TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A University of Florida graduate was recently given a unique honor in Tallahassee.
Yvonne Brown has been named an honorary Florida State University alum for her dedication to the community. It's an award that's never been granted before.
Alumni president, Scott Atwell, is one of the people behind giving the status to brown. Atwell says, over the past 10 years, brown has encompassed all characteristics a person who is dedicated to the community and university has.
Alumni board members wanted to reward her time, talent, and treasure by making her a Seminole.
Brown has served on 2 of the direct support organization boards at Florida State, donated scholarship money, mentored students and volunteered throughout the community.
