U.S. Post Office Announces Suspended Service Operations

JACKSONVILLE, FL (WTXL) - The U.S. Postal Service has suspended mail delivery and retail operations in some coastal areas that have been affected by the approach of Hurricane Matthew.

They said that post offices in North Florida and South Georgia with the first three ZIP code digits beginning with 322, 320, 315, 314 and 313 will be closed on Friday and Saturday.

The Postal Service said it will Columbus Day Holiday on Monday so all offices will be closed and there will be no regular mail delivery, mail collections or retail services, until the following day.

They said that customers can call 1-800-ASK-USPS to obtain information, including available, alternate post office locations, or check the Postal Service website here.
