TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- U.S. Marshals have arrested a man in Tallahassee wanted on local, state, and federal charges.

U.S Marshals say they arrested a Micheal Cooper today on Federal Probation Violation charges.

He was also wanted in Tallahassee for strangling his girlfriend.

They spotted him getting into his vehicle around the area of Centerville and Blairstone and were able to apprehend him. He was with a female passenger who was not arrested.

The viewer who sent in the video says that helicopters were being flown overhead at the time of the arrest.

The arrest was made as part of the FL Regional Fugitive Task Force.

Coopers has picked up three more charges: driving with a suspended license, fleeing/eluding police and hit-and-run.

We are still working to find out why marshals are involved in the case.
