GADSDEN COUNTY., Fla. (WTXL) - The westbound outside lane of U.S. 90 from New Bethel AME Church to Hilltop Drive in Gadsden County will be closed from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, April 7 through Friday, April 11 to allow trucks to enter and exit the Quincy Bypass project site.
Flaggers will be on State Road 12 to assist motorists through the work zone. The speed limit on U.S. 90 is 45 mph, and violations double when workers are present. Drivers are cautioned to use extra care when traveling through the construction zones on U.S. 90 and on S.R. 12.
All U.S. 90 traffic between Quincy and Midway has been transitioned to a single lane in each direction on the westbound roadway at the Little River and Hurricane Creek bridges.
This traffic shift will allow crews to remove and construct the new eastbound bridge. This traffic pattern will remain in effect until May 2014. Drivers are reminded that travel lanes are reduced to 11 feet in width through the work zone. Over-sized and permitted vehicles should seek alternate routes.
