TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Some of those who are hoping to win your vote for in the U.S. Congressional Election will express their views to community members at a forum Friday night.
Friday night's forum will feature four candidates. Two in the running for U.S. Congress District 2 and two in the running for District 5.
Al Lawson and Alvin Brown are trying to fill the empty District 5 seat.
Bob Rackleff and Brandon Peters are running for District 2.
One of the organizers and President of Local American Federation of Government Employees, Ray Coleman, says big topics of conversation will include prison and lobbying reform, pension for federal workers, and economic growth.
"Candidates should always come out and interact with the community. After all, these are the people you represent up on Capitol Hill. It's very important for the community, as well, to be in touch with their candidates," said Coleman. "So should you have an issues or concerns or anything that needs to be addressed on Capitol Hill, these are the people that you need to reach out to. These are the people that write our bills and legislation."
Coleman says these forums create transparency between candidates and the community, so you can get to know all the opponents before voting.
