GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - Troopers say two men have been hospitalized, one in serious condition, after their truck went airborne during a crash in Gadsden County early Sunday morning.
The Florida Highway Patrol says the crash happened around 2:15 a.m. on Sunday.
They say Kyle Howard, 21, of Tallahassee was driving his 2014 Ford F-150 on S.R. 65 in the northbound lane when he came to a right curve. Troopers say the car drifted across the southbound lane during the turn and onto the left shoulder.
The truck ended up hitting a concrete pipe, launching off the pipe and into the air. Troopers say the vehicle crossed National Forest Road 132 while airborne and landed on its left side.
FHP says Howard suffered minor injuries in the crash while his passenger, identified as 21-year-old Jacob Merritt, suffered serious injuries. Both were transported to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.
Troopers note that while Merritt's injuries are serious, they are not life-threatening.
