TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A two story home is a complete loss after it caught fire on Southwood Plantation Road early Sunday morning.
The Tallahassee Fire Department says at about 5:12 a.m. Sunday, they were called to a house fire in the 1400 block of Southwood Plantation Road.
TFD states when crews arrived on scene, they saw heavy fire throughout the home.
While extinguishing the fire, crews were forced to close Southwood Plantation Road because the fire hydrant was located across the street from the home.
TFD says the home was unoccupied at the time of the fire and there have been no report of injuries.
According to TFD, the home was a complete loss and a cause for the fire has not been determined.
Crews began to clear the scene at about 8:30 a.m. and reopened the street.
TFD was assisted on scene by the Leon County Sheriff's Office, Leon County EMS, and City of Tallahassee Utilities.
