JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - Two 72-year-olds have been hospitalized in serious condition after getting into a crash with a propane gas truck.

The Florida Highway Patrol says that the crash happened on S.R. 75 Monday around 1:30 p.m.

They say Patricia Ann Harris, 72, of Alford was going southbound on U.S. 231, when she drove into the continuous turn lane in the center. Troopers say the propane gas truck was going the opposite way in the outside lane.

As she began to make a left turn onto 2nd Avenue, troopers say the gas truck crashed into the right side of Harris' vehicle.

The impact caused Harris' car to travel, hitting an underground cable marker before coming to a stop on the sidewalk.

Both Harris' and the passenger with her, Charles Quattlebaum, 72, of Wausau were hospitalized in serious condition. The propane truck driver was treated on scene for minor injuries.

FHP says Harris' has been charged with violation of right of way.
