JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - Two people are seriously injured after a two-car accident in Jackson County Sunday morning.

Carolyn Banas, 79, of Marianna, and Willie Kirkland Jr., 28, of Graceville, suffered serious injuries from the accident.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, around 5:59 a.m. on Sunday, Banas was traveling south on County Road 167, while Kirkland was traveling north.

FHP says, Banas drifted over the center double yellow lines and collided with Kirkland.

FHP states Kirkland was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident and alcohol was not a factor in the crash.

FHP says charges are currently pending.

Both were transported to Southeast Medical Center in Alabama.
