TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Tallahassee Police Department says they have a "burglary team" who stole a car from You-Fit Friday evening.
Friday evening, Tallahassee Police officers responded to You-Fit on N. Monroe for a vehicle burglary. After watching surveillance footage, officers were able to identify a silver Nissan Altima as the suspect vehicle.
About an hour later, TPD’s Community Oriented Policing & Problem-Solving squad (COPPS) saw the same sedan driving through the parking lots the Village Square Shopping Center and Premier Health & Fitness Center.
Once the suspect vehicle parked, officers responded and apprehended two suspects. During the arrest, officers recovered the stolen property from the You Fit burglary, stolen tags, cannabis and burglary tools.
Both suspects, identified as 25-year-old She'maliz Olivia Toccara and 22-year-old Rickain Trey Johnson, were booked into the Leon County Dentition Facility.
Toccara and Johnson were both charged with burglary, grand theft, and possession of burglary tools. Additionally, Toccara is facing charges for violation of probation and criminal mischief while Johnson is facing charges for possession of marijuana and possession of narcotic equipment.
Police say possible additional charges are pending.
