COLORADO SPRINGS, CO (KRDO/CNN) - Two students are in custody on Monday after police say they threatened to kill students and staff at their middle school in Colorado.

Police arrested two 13-year-old boys and accused them of making a "kill list." The boys attend Sabin Middle School in Colorado Springs.

According to investigators, a chain of "online" messages was discovered. And in them the two teens talked about how they would carry out their threats.

Police executed search warrants off campus, and found weapons related to the case. "We'll continue to interview students, students who might come forward, that might have information or parents and we'll see where that information takes us. Our sros (school resource officers) are confident that there are only two individuals,” said Lt. Howard Black of the Colorado Springs Police Department.

Both teens are facing two felony charges. Police became aware of the "kill list" thanks to an anonymous tip.
