JASPER, Fla. (WTXL) - Two Live Oak men were arrested for introducing contraband into the Hamilton Correctional Institution.

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office arrested and charged Ronnie Goodman and Kwone Matthews with smuggling contraband into a correctional facility, according to a news release from the Florida Department of Corrections.

Goodman and Matthews were observed dropping off contraband at the institution on Tuesday and later apprehended with evidence connecting them to the items found at the facility.

An offense report said that the men were stopped in a car that had left the facility.

The contraband the men are accused of dropping off were a Galaxly J3 Luna Pro cellphone, two-gallon sized plastic bags containing small brown cigars, and a Saumsung charger.

A correctional officer said one of the suspects was seen getting out of the car and throwing a package over the lift statin fence in front of the training building.

Goodman and Matthews were transported to the Hamilton County Jail for booking.

Each man was released Wednesday on a $10,00 bond.
