TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)--Two men are now charged in an animal neglect case, according to the Leon County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies say a dozen horses were seized from 70-year-old Edward Moragne, Jr.'s property on Moccasin Gap Road last month.
He's an adjunct instructor in the division of agricultural science at Florida A&M University. He's now facing ten counts of neglect.
Another man, Maurice A. Gilmore, is charged with two counts of neglect.
A veterinarian said the horses were malnourished and in need of dental care.
Leon County deputies say the horses are at an undisclosed location, but they're showing signs of improvement.
The men are scheduled to appear in court April 2.
