TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Two Tallahassee men have been arrested for an armed robbery at a local gas station on Wednesday.

Tysley Couch, 35, and Henry Johnson, 37, were arrested by the Leon County Sheriff's Office on Thursday.

On Wednesday around 11:03 p.m., an armed robbery was reported at a Texaco gas station on West Tennessee Street.

About a week before, LCSO responded to an armed robbery at the Texaco gas station on Capital Circle SE. Additionally, the Tallahassee Police Department responded to two more robberies that night and another three robberies on the night of June 15.

Authorities believed that the robberies were related and were able to determine the vehicle being driven during Wednesday's robbery.

Wednesday night, LCSO and TPD conducted proactive patrols in an effort to arrest Couch and Johnson. Deputies were able to find the car just up the street from the Texaco gas station.

Law enforcement followed the vehicle to Holton Street, where Couch parked the car. Authorities then made contact with Johnson and Couch.

The police report states that from outside the car, the handle of a handgun was seen under the passenger seat. Authorities also found a wad of cash, a mask, and a camouflage bandanna inside the car.

Couch and Johnson were then taken into custody.

Documents say before they were booked, Couch was taken to the Violent Crimes Unit at LCSO for an interview while Johnson was taken to the hospital after complaining about of shortness of breath.

Johnson was later released.

While talking with deputies, Couch told them he was aware that a car used by Johnson was "hot." He said they were previously stopped by TPD and were informed the car was a suspect vehicle in robberies.

Officers told them the car would be flagged so it wouldn't be stopped again. Couch said he was driving that night because he had a valid driver's license.

Couch informed deputies he drove the car again on Wednesday to a store on Apalachee Parkway, purchasing a Black and Mild cigar and then returned home.

Deputies told Couch they did not believe his story and he ultimately admitted to driving in the area of West Tennessee Street on Wednesday.

Couch said that night, Johnson told him to stop at the Texaco so he could "run" inside real quick. Couch stated that he parked by the gas pumps while Johnson got out of the car, put on a mask, and went into the store.

At that point, Couch admitted he was aware of the robbery. Couch said Johnson came out of the store, did not give him any money, and told him to "go go."

Deputies reviewed the video footage and confirmed the car never entered the parking lot, contrary to Couch's story. According to deputies, tire impressions in the area indicated the car parked behind the store and one of the suspects approached from the back of the building.

Based on the evidence, Couch is being charged with robbery with a firearm. Johnson is also being charged with two counts of robbery with a firearm and driving with a suspended license.

The investigation into the other six robberies is on-going.
