TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)--Leon County deputies are revealing more details in the case where two teens were seen shooting up an abandoned trailer on Idlewild Drive.

Lincoln High School, Apalachee Elementary School, and the Adult Community Education Center were put on lockdown as a precaution on Thursday morning.

Leon County deputies say a 14-year-old and 16-year-old were in possession of a gun, and on the way to school they decided to fire shots at a trailer.

Deputies say a neighbor heard shots and started walking towards them with a shotgun. That's when one of the teens ran away and headed back to school.

The other teen stayed behind. According to deputies, the neighbor scolded him for his behavior and told him to get to school. The neighbor then called Lincoln High School.

Deputies say the teens were identified, and it's likely they will be charged with a crime at some point during the investigation. They're working to determine where the gun came from.

Leon County Schools spokesman Chris Petley says the students have been suspended during a review of the matter. He says no firearms were found on the Lincoln campus. No students were hurt, and no known threats were made.
