PERRY, FL (WTXL) -- Two people died in a an accident in Taylor County Monday afternoon.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, 67-year-old Hugh Donald Poppell and 70-year-old Betty Earline Poppell were pronounced dead at the scene.
Troopers said that Hugh was driving on US Highway 19 north of Barney Lane when he veered left across the median and hit several trees. The accident happened around 11:45 a.m.
According to the FHP report, both victims were not wearing seatbelts.
