ST. MARKS, Fla. (WTXL) - Two historic ships sailed into in St. Marks this past week.

People from around the area could go inside the Pinta and the Nina, replicas of Christopher Columbus' ships.

The ships are a sailing museum, educating visitors about the vessels used by Columbus to sail to America.

"Columbus made four voyages using these ships and imagine twenty to thirty men living out of the open deck," said Stephen Sanger. "So obviously a lot of the kids come out of the classroom and being able to walk aboard living history is really important."

The ships will depart Sunday morning.

Their next stop is Venice, Florida.
