SUWANNEE COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL)--Two people are dead after a fiery semi truck crash in Suwannee County.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers have identified the victims. The driver's name is Willie Cone, 56, of Anthony, Florida and the passenger is Angela M. Hasson, 43, of Ocala.
The semi truck headed east on I-10 and crossed the median Sunday at 11 p.m. near mile marker 285. Troopers say the truck hit a tree and caught fire. Suwannee Fire Rescue also arrived. The semi was on its side.
Fire crews began fighting the fire and tried to rescue the trapped victims.
Firefighters and law enforcement were on the scene for several hours investigating and cleaning up the accident.
