VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL) - Two people are dead after a car crash in Valdosta.
It happened just before 5:00 p.m. Saturday on U.S. 41 near Twin Lakes Road. According to Georgia State Patrol, 19-year-old Cody Browning was driving his truck east when he failed to yield for an SUV driving north.
Troopers say the other driver, 26-year-old Kasey Wright, was hit by Browning's truck. Wright then hit the median and overturned, ejecting both Wright and passenger Lee Neesmith. Troopers say neither one was wearing a seat belt.
Wright was pronounced dead at the scene and Neesmith was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Troopers say Browning and his two passengers were not injured in the crash. Troopers do not suspect alcohol or drugs to be a factor, but a toxicology report is pending.
