THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WTXL) - A Thomasville mother and her boyfriend are facing charges after the mother's one year old child was brought to the hospital and found with a number of injuries.
Dantes Malik Hampton and Andria Niquel Butler were arrested Friday following a week long investigation.
According to reports from the Thomas County Sheriff's Office, Butler brought her daughter to the hospital after she began having seizures.
The child was examined and found to have several fractures including a skull fracture. Investigators say the child's recovery has been nothing short of a miracle.
"We are very happy to know that she's okay, at the time it was reported we didn't know if the child would survive or not," said Lt. Tim Watkins. We are ecstatic that she's doing okay."
Hampton was charged with first degree cruelty to children. Butler was charged with second degree cruelty to children.
Investigators say Hampton is believed to have caused the injuries to the child. Butler's children are currently in Department of Children and Family Services' custody.
