TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - Two people were arrested over the weekend for operating a chop shop in Leon County.
The Sheriff's Office says they were tipped off by a person who claimed to know the location of a stolen motorcycle.
When deputies went to the home on Bright Start Circle they found Ronald Rueth and John Willis working on motorcycles in the yard.
Deputies say the VIN numbers were scratched off and that they also found stolen parts in a storage area. The two were arrested and taken to the Leon County Jail.
Rueth is being charged with operating a chop shop, possession of marijuana less than 20 grams, in addition to a previous warrant for passing worthless bank checks. Willis is facing charges of operating a chop shop, dealing in stolen property by use of the internet, and four counts of possession of a vehicle with altered/defaced VIN.
