FRANKLIN COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - Two parents are behind bars after a Good Samaritan found their 2-year-old child alone, walking into a busy street.

The Franklin County Sheriff's Office wrote that Steven and Stormy Shiver were arrested for the incident on Monday.

They say they were alerted about the child on Saturday, when a Good Samaritan called deputies to tell them that a 2-year-old child around was walking around alone in the middle of a busy road.

FCSO later discovered that another child, an infant, had been left crawling around alone in the couple's trailer.

They say that neither of the parents were with the children when they were found.

Deputies say they later found Steven, the children's father, driving with a suspended drivers license. They a woman with a meth pipe was inside the car at the time of his arrest.

He and the woman were both arrested.

Steven's wife, Stormy, was found was asleep in another building when she was taken into custody.

Steven and Stormy were charged with a 3rd degree felony for child neglect. FCSO says the Department of Children and Families was notified of the incident.

They say this isn't the first time their child has been found in the street alone and attribute the parent's behavior to meth use.
