TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Two men accused of stealing a car and leading deputies on a chase through Tallahassee have been arrested.
According to a probable cause document, the CDA received a call from Onstar services about a recently stolen car on Monday. The Leon County Sheriff's Office and the Tallahassee Police Department responded to the call and found the car at South Macomb Street and West Tennessee Street.
The car crossed Tennessee Street and then turned left onto Call Street. The document said that the car then turned right onto Martin Luther King Street and headed south.
When law enforcement got behind the car, it started increasing its speed and drove into oncoming traffic to pass a car in front of it. The car also ran a stop sign.
Even after officers turned on their sirens, the car continued to flee, running multiple stop signs.
Eventually, Onstar shut down the car as officers attempted to stop it. The probable cause document said that the car came to a stop at All Saints Street and St. Michaels Street. The driver, identified later as Harold Crawford and the passenger, identified as James Crawford, both got out the car and attempted to run away.
When both were arrested, law enforcement searched the car.
The probable cause document said that they found a clear, plastic baggie with cocaine in it, a prescription bottle with crack in it, and a marijuana cigarette.
James and Harold were both arrested for grand theft and possession of the drugs. Harold is in Leon County Jail on a bond for $18,500 while James has a bond of $10,500.
