(WTXL) - President Donald Trump is calling for the recount in Florida's U.S. Senate and governor races to be halted, saying that an "honest vote count" is no longer possible.

In a tweet Monday, Trump said Gov. Rick Scott and former U.S. Rep. Ron DeSantis should get the seats they won on Election Night.

The recount is to determine whether Scott gains the U.S. Senate seat now held by Bill Nelson and whether DeSantis or Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum becomes Florida's next governor.

"The Florida Election should be called in favor of Rick Scott and Ron DeSantis in that large numbers of new ballots showed up out of nowhere, and many ballots are missing or forged," Trump tweeted. "An honest vote count is no longer possible-ballots massively infected. Must go with Election Night!"

Trump's tweet did not cite any evidence.
