NASHVILLE, GA (WTXL) - A truck driver was taken by helicopter and two students received minor injuries after a truck crashed into a school bus.
According to Georgia State Patrol, the accident happened near the intersection of State Road 125 and County Road 210 just after 7:40 a.m. Thursday.
A flatbed truck carrying water tanks crashed into the right rear of a Berrien County school bus as it was loading students, troopers said. The bus reportedly had its red lights flashing and stop sign out.
The driver of the truck, who troopers identified as Tyler Tyson, had to be extricated and was flown to Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare.
The bus was reportedly almost full, although an exact number of students is not yet available, troopers said. Two students were sent to the hospital with minor injuries.
Tyson has been charged with following too close and not wearing a seat belt. Troopers believe he was not paying attention at the time of the crash.
