BAINBRIDGE, Ga. (WTXL)-- A truck full of cigars is stolen.
It's a rare theft in Decatur County that's giving law enforcement a glimpse into what may be becoming a bigger problem.
Deputies in south Georgia right now working to find out if two stolen semi trucks are related.
Decatur County deputies tell us a man from Dothan, Alabama walked out of the SP Truck Stop Saturday, only to find his rig was gone.
"If you're able to get a fully loaded truck with little or no effort and you have the load to sell off somewhere to buy the goods then you can make a pretty big profit there," said Investigator Redell Walton with the Decatur County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies say some models have universal keys and they say the thieves may have been able to unlock it on their own.
The truck was eventually found in Thomasville. Its cargo of cigars still there. No charges have been filed.
Another truck was stolen in Bainbridge in December. Investigators are working to see if they're connected.
Deputies have learned similar situations have happened in other places.
"It happened in this area and in south Florida," said Walton.
