GEORGIA (WTXL) - Georgia State Troopers have a warning for drivers ahead of the solar eclipse on Monday.

They're expecting distractions for drivers.

Troopers say between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. you should take extra caution on the roadways and turn on your headlights and be conscious of distracted drivers.

Most importantly, troopers warn not to wear your solar glasses while driving.

"This is a rare occurrence," said Corporal John Vanlandingham, a Georgia State Patrol trooper at Post 40. "People tend to do crazy and silly things when during times when these occur. Make sure you slow down, and give yourself extra time to go and get where you are going."

They say that troopers will be out on the roadways.

They are encouraging people to pull over if they want to watch.
