Troopers Respond to Fatal Crash in Taylor County

TAYLOR COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - Florida Highway Patrol responded to the scene of a fatal crash in Taylor County on the night of Monday, July 3.

The incident happened around 9:40 p.m. when two vehicles hit a pedestrian. 

Robert Humpidge of Jacksonville, Fla. was walking across the southbound lane to travel on U.S. 19, just south of Beach Road in Perry. At the same time, a car was traveling southbound when they collided in the outside lane. 

After the crash, the car came to rest on the west shoulder on U.S. 19. 

Another car traveling the same route collided with Humpidge, who was in the southbound outside lane.

After the second collision with the second car, Humpidge was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The Taylor County Fire Rescue and Taylor County Sheriff's Office assisted FHP at the scene.
