WAKULLA COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - A Crawfordville man is dead after he lost control of his car and hit a concrete gutter, causing the car to go airborne before crashing into a utility pole and a tree.
The Florida Highway Patrol says the crash happened Saturday around 9:22 a.m. on U.S. 98.
They say Brandon Castallano, 34, of Crawfordville was traveling south on U.S. 98 near Medart VFD Lane when he lost control of his Chevy Silverado. The truck traveling into the west grass shoulder of the road before hitting a concrete gutter.
The impact caused the car to launch into the air before hitting a utility pole and a tree. Castallano was pronounced dead on scene by Wakulla County EMS.
The road was partially closed during while linemen secured live power lines.
It is unclear if drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash.
