LOWNDES COUNTY, Ga. (WTXL) - Georgia troopers said that a Brooks County judge was arrested in Lowndes County after getting into a crash while under the influence.
The Georgia State Patrol said that they were investigating a car crash involving Brooks County State Court Judge William Folsom.
They said that the crash happened on Monday around 6:34 p.m. on Shiloh Road near Amber Drive. When troopers arrived, they noticed a strong odor of alcohol coming from Folsom's breath.
They said that they interviewed him, and he told them that he had drank a glass and a half of wine, and took two types of medicine for anxiety and depression that day as well.
When put through a field sobriety test, Folsom failed. He also tested positive for alcohol when he did a breath test.
They said that no one was injured in the crash.
Troopers took Folsom to the Lowndes County Jail after a chemical test of his blood. He was charged with driving under the influence.
